I was at the birth of Google, being among its very first ad buyers. On AOL, my user name was Laurie@aol.com. My SEO acumen has been seriously geeky and well honed over 20 years. And I owned a social media company, which I sold in its 3rd year . . . when others were just beginning to realize that social might just take off.

In countless digital marketing seminars and lectures, I’ve listened to the pioneers – and spoken lots myself. I remember sitting next to Craig Newmark (of Craigslist fame) at lunch; went up the elevator at Columbia University with Jeffrey and Bryan Eisenberg and helped them hand out their hot off the press “persuasive online copywriting” book. I have sat at the feet of the legendary (and disarming!) Roy Wilson at the Wizard Academy in Austin. A few times.
